Mrs. Linda Williams

Born Into Time: May 19, 1947
Born Into Eternity: September 14, 2017

Linda Nicholson Williams was born to the union of Louis Nicholson, Jr. and Frances McHarris Nicholson in Chicago, Illinois on May 19, 1947. Her parents, husband George, brother Louis, III and sister Filura preceded her in death.

Linda attended Corpus Christi elementary school and Englewood high school in Chicago. As a young woman she worked at Montgomery Wards and Fireman’s Fund American Insurance Company where she was known to be an excellent employee.

On December 16, 1967, Linda married her everlasting love, George E. Williams, Jr. They were the perfect complement to one another. To this union, their daughter Frances Kelly Williams was born.

Linda was politically astute, always staying abreast of what was going on in her community, city and world at large. She served as president of her block club where she put her leadership skills to good use. Her favorite pastimes were reading and listening to country and rock & roll music. She also loved animals, especially cats and birds.

Linda, affectionately known as “Linda Red,” always spoke her mind. You didn’t have to guess where you stood with her. She loved deeply and cared for her family.

Linda left this earth for eternity September 14, 2017. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Frances Kelly; grandson, Christopher George; sisters, Phyllis Porter and Clarissa Porter; brothers, David Nicholson and Lorne Porter (Renarda); sisters-in-law, Georgette Cavens, Esther St. James and Sibyl Williams; dear cousin Corilla Parks; her special sisters, Tanya Decker and Gloria Fields; the son she never had, Shawn Anderson and a host of relatives and friends.
