Bruce Raickett was the son of Charles and Mamie Pearl Raickett. He was born on January 26, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. Bruce was the fifth child of six children.
In the late 1960’s Bruce met and married Laurine Blackson (Raickett). That union produced their only child- Ruth Leona Raickett. Later in Bruce’s professional career he began working as a computer programmer for The University of Illinois. This is the career that he maintained for well over 30 years. His retirement was well deserved after a prosperous and productive time working in various capacities servicing many people.
Bruce made an impact on the lives of a multitude of people. He encountered individuals from all walks of life. His creativity and musical abilities were his gifts that drew people to him. He was a well-rounded individual who could have discussions and debates about an unexpected array of topics always having a very strong and well defended stance on the issues.
Bruce was a cherished father who was greatly loved by his daughter Ruth Raickett-Roberts. His absence in her life has left an unexplainable. Bruce’s creativity was a gift that transferred to his daughter and is evident in her life.
On Tuesday March 5, 2019 Bruce unexpectedly transitioned. He will be missed by his Daughter Ruth Raickett-Roberts and Grandsons David Austin Jamal Roberts-Daynen Winston Tyler Roberts, His Brother Pastor Donald Raickett, His Sister Beverly Raickett and a host of nephews and nieces. He has many friends and acquaintances who mourn the end of his life here on earth.
