Clara Hudson was born May 21, 1925 in Bolivar County, Mississippi to the union of the late Isom and Eleanor Cullins. She was reared in Mississippi and accepted Christ at an early age. Her family settled in Chicago in 1930. Later, she met Luther Hudson, and they married August 1, 1966. Their blended family included: Eleanor, Claudette, Weldon, Patricia and Carl. Clara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Luther; brother, Clifton Ray Cullins, Sisters; Van Viola Hudson and Mildred Coleman, and daughter Claudette Coleman. She departed this earthly life on August 22, 2019 at the age of 94. Clara became a member of Zion Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend F.D. Johnson. She was a faithful member and served tirelessly until her health declined.
Clara was very outgoing, attentive, had a strong-willed personality, and treasured her family and church, where she served as a devoted deacon for many years. She was also involved in various church organizations and events. Clara loved God and fervently prayed and worshipped. She enjoyed family get togethers, traveling, numerous hobbies such as cooking, sewing, gardening in her yard, arts & crafts, and her home where everyone was always welcomed. She organized numerous church, family, social and neighborhood events including holiday gatherings, family reunions, neighborhood block club parties, and she always had her business in order, and always offered advice on how to get your business in order.
Clara leaves to cherish her loving and indelible memories 4 children, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
