Judith (Judy) Sherrell, born to parents Robert Sherrell and Katie Moore, on May 11, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. Judy was raised on the Chicago’s South Side her entire life. Judy attended Holy Angel grammar school and graduated from St. Thomas the Apostle in 1959. She also attended St. Elizabeth Nursing School for 1 year.
Judy worked for the City of Chicago as a Meter maid beginning in 1966 until 1969. After which, she went on to work Marshall Fields from 1969 until 1973. Finally, Judy worked for Illinois Bell (Ameritech), as an Executive Administrative Assistant until she retired in 1994.
Judy leaves behind her son Jonathan Sherrell (Chrystalin), nine grandchildren, Jonae Sherrell, Jovanni Noble, Jonathon Washington, Breahjohnee Carter-Berry, Thomas Tyner, Jonarhi Wilnewic , Khey Carter-Berry, Autumn Sherrell and Kaylin Sherrell and J’Cari Carter-Smith (8) great grandchildren and a host of other family members.
Judy was preceded in death by her siblings, Pauline Childs and George Sherrell, and will be dearly missed by Robert Sherrell (Kathleen), Katherine Whittington (Vernon), John Sherrell, Myra Sherrell and Michael Sherrell (Laverne). With a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
