Willie Faye Sago (Andrews) was born in Meridian, Mississippi on August 17, 1919. She was the oldest of seven children. She graduated from Harris High School in 1937. Later she married Eddie Morgan who preceded her in death. To this union three children were given, Alice Faye, Barbara (Bobbie Jean), and Edwina. Her daughter Barbara preceded her in death.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age. Her faith enabled her to endure the tragic loss of her husband. She realized that she needed to be able to support her children. She enrolled in Beauty School to become a cosmetologist. This would become her life’s work for over 65 years.
She moved to Chicago in 1953 where she continued her training and became a licensed cosmetologist. She operated several beauty shops over the years. She was very active in organizations that oversaw the Cosmetology industry in Illinois.
She married Zono Sago in 1962. He preceded her in death. He had a son, Segrenae (Glenn) Williams, who became the son she never had.
She became a member of Calvary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.R. Phillips. She attended faithfully until her health failed.
Willie Faye departed this life on July 30, 2018.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughters Alice Wages and Edwina McKinney and her step-son Segrenae Williams. Nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Her sister. Edna Clay, many nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
